Kelowna bouldering is comprised of 3 terrific areas, Pebble Beach, The Ruins, and The Boulderfields. While Pebble Beach offers beautiful lakeside bouldering and The Ruins offer safe, unique blocs, they are much smaller and less concentrated than the big show… the Boulderfields.
The Fields are by far the largest bouldering area in the Okanagan Valley. With amazingly featured Gneiss that offers diverse climbing and roughly 700 problems ranging from V0 to V12 and projects above, the Boulderfields offer some of the best bouldering in the nation.
From easy lowballs to insanely difficult highballs, horizontal, thuggy roofs to vertical, technical faces, the Fields have something for everyone. And there is no end in sight to the explosion of new problems in this playground! So, get out and sample some of the local, world-class bouldering for yourselves.
A few of my favorite, “must hit” regions in the Fields are the F1, Surf, Cave Dweller, Driven and Dominator areas. There are enough awesome problems of a wide range of styles and difficulties in these areas to keep people busy for a long time!
So, get out and sample some of the local, world-class bouldering for yourselves. You won’t be disappointed!
